S. Hauer is an author, artist and educator who creates children’s stories rooted in beauty, faith and wonder. With a background in fine art and theology, she believes that meaningful stories and handmade illustrations can help children encounter truth, hope and the presence of God.
Her work is deeply rooted in faith and wonder. In each of her paintings she is expressing the life found in Christ and how as the Creator He shows truth through the visible world, making present spiritual realities and things to come that are hoped for.
In her writing- she writes and illustrates each book with the intention of creating something families will treasure and return to together. Her books include Mommy, Why Do Butterflies Fly? and her newest Christmas story, The Littlest Christmas Star. She strives to bring excellence to art, stories, and faithful curriculum. When she is not writing, painting or teaching, Sarah enjoys discovering beauty in nature, traveling, visiting sacred art and most of all- the ordinary moments of family life. Follow her creative work at @worksofshauer
S. Hauer earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Art Education from Arizona State University and a Master of Arts in Theology and Christian Ministry from Franciscan University of Steubenville. Her interdisciplinary background in art, education and theology informs her work as an author and illustrator, inspiring her to create meaningful stories that invite children and families to encounter authentic beauty and faith.
